Support for Employers

Wage Subsidy

Employers supporting one or more of our clients are entitled to the following wage subsidy commitment from BtG: (Maximum Period of 26 weeks)

Aged 25+

Full time employment (30 hrs or more) 50% of wages paid up to a maximum of £75 per week.

(E.g. 371⁄2 hrs @ £4-00 = £150 per week. BtG pays 50% results in the maximum payment of £75 per week).

(26 weeks @ £75 = £1,950).

Part time employment (16-29 hrs). Maximum £50 per week for the first 26 weeks. 50% of wages up to the maximum of £50. Full subsidies if working hours are reduced due to disability.

Aged 18 –24
Full time employment (30 hrs or more) 50% of wages up to a maximum of £60 per week.

Part time employment (24-29 hrs). Maximum £40 per week for the first 26 weeks.

50% of wages up to the maximum of £40. Full subsidies if working hours are reduced due to disability.

Payment
Paid direct to employer’s bank account in six monthly instalments

In-Work Support

Available for the first 26 weeks of employment for personnel recruited through BtG, the following services will be available:

* Regular contact with a team member from Bridging the Gap to support the induction process.
* Support to identify training needs of new recruits.
* Support and advice for supervisory staff regarding work related issues.
* Assistance in managing a multi-cultural workforce.
* Support to help overcome language/communication barriers.

If a training programme is not presently available, BtG will support training, either on the job training or vocationally relevant training, as agreed with the employer for the first 26 weeks of employment.

* BtG will facilitate customised training for new employees to provide additional skills and expertise to meet the requirements of individual employers. This support will usually be purchased, with a contribution from the employer, from external training providers.
* BtG will offer support for specialist supervisor training where this training is provided to enable the supervisor to be better able to support and develop staff members under his/her control.
* BtG will part-fund an existing training course; a contribution from the employer will be sought, in order to up-skill an employee referred by BtG.
* Customised Training support is likely to be limited to £250.00 per person.
