Future
Directions
Bridging the Gap is currently in the process of establishing itself
as an independent not-for-profit company. This will provide a greater
degree of flexibility for the organisation, allowing it to adapt and
change to meet new challenges. A Business Plan has been prepared which
provides the detail of how the new organisation will move forward,
make full advantage of the opportunities available, and move towards
sustainability. An experienced Board of Directors has been appointed
to develop and drive the new company's strategy forward.
BtG now comprises two teams of workers.

At the head of each team we now have a Community Support Team Leader
who is responsible on a day to day basis for other members of their
team, ensuring that the service provided is as beneficial to the clients
in their area as possible.
We have also recruited a new Clerical Assistant, Caroline Green.
Caroline came to BtG in September 2004, with a background in sales and
having studied Law.

elsewhere;
• To reduce barriers that prevent disadvantaged people from
entering the labour market;
• To retrain the long term unemployed in relevant skills;
• To assist trained people to obtain jobs; and
• with partners, help to create an enduring link between employers
and people currently excluded from the labour market.
