& Clients
|
| The
purpose of Bridging the Gap is to provide a service to its clients.
We do this in a variety of ways, but every aspect of the project is
focussed on this one main objective. |
As
a client focussed organisation, we are dedicated to getting positive
results for all of our clients. This, of course, is not always
possible as we are only able to support and assist people as much
as they want to succeed in their own goals. The way we view
our service is that we should be ready to support people at the
time they need our support.
Our support is wide ranging, we operate in a flexible fashion which
can be adapted to suit the needs of the individual. Our Community
Support Workers meet up with clients near to their homes to discuss
the issues and to look at a plan of action. This action planning
has been devised to structure both the support required from BtG
and the actions that the clients needs to take. The amount
of emphasis placed on the client will depend on the judgement of
their support worker, who will take into account the abilities and
circumstances of the individual.
Many of our clients have some idea of what they want to do before
approaching us, some have a clear idea of a career they are interested
in, others are more focussed on training as a means to an end, while
some have little or no idea about where they want to be. All
of our workers are highly experienced and qualified to offer advice
and to assist our clients in their decisions making process.
Again, the level to which they are required to do so will depend
on the individual's needs.
All clients that BtG work with must be facing some sort of barrier
to gaining employment. The groups of people with whom we are
able to work is set out in our Eligability
Criteria page. These groups of people have been decided
upon through research undertaken by the European Social Fund and
through an understanding of local needs. Unfortunately, there
are some people who really need support to overcome barriers who
do not fit into any of the criteria we work to. In these cases
we will recommend alternative sources of support. We also
work closely with many other support organisations, funding bodies
and community groups in an attempt to ensure that gaps in provision
are filled and that support is available for everybody needing it.
